Types of aluminium

In the process of collecting the various types of aluminium scraps that we manage daily, we pay the utmost attention to preventing contamination of the different alloys we collect. The aluminium collection area we have is very large and every type of alloy has a special dedicated storage space.
The controls and processing we implement are to prevent any impurities of the material collected. Customers who buy from us always have the certainty that they will receive a product compliant with their order. Below is a classification table of the various types of aluminium alloys.

Legend aluminium alloys table
The alloys consist of aluminium and a series of other alloying metals.
In the table the highlighted item along with the aluminium (i.e. Al-Cu or Al-Mn) is the substance with the higher percentage compared to the others (obviously excluding aluminium, which is always the main component).
Cu:
Increased mechanical resistance and hardness proportional to the quantity of Cu, improves workability of machine tools, decreases corrosion resistance.
Mn:
Increases mechanical resistance and resilience, improves ductility.
Si:
Increases mechanical resistance, strong decrease in workability of machine tools, slight decrease in corrosion resistance.
Mg:
Increases mechanical resistance and hardness, improves workability of machine tools, ductility and corrosion resistance.
Zn:
Increases mechanical resistance and deformability, strong decrease in corrosion resistance, increased fragility to heat, makes the alloy self-tempering.
Fe:
Increases mechanical properties, even to heat, reduces fragility to heat, enhances die-casting detachment.
